ACADEMIC OVERVIEW
Colegio Americano offers a dynamic and balanced academic program in a student-centered learning environment. The strength of the program is that it draws students and teachers from every continent who bring a wide range of talents and interests. Learning takes place in and out of the classroom where lively exchanges among students and teachers occur on a daily basis.
From the primary grades through senior high school, the curriculum is rich in depth and variety. As a bilingual school, classes are held in both the Spanish and English languages. There are classes in language and literature, geography, mathematics, history/social studies, the sciences, performing and visual arts, physical education, technology and religion.
Schools in the United States and Canada accept student credits from Colegio Americano. In the 2004-2005 school year, Colegio Americano was one of only two schools in the school’s zone that was awarded the Recognition of Excellence.
Parent Testimonials:
“Colegio Americano did a magnificent job preparing my two girls for classes here in the US. The girls love school and are doing very well. Rachel is at grade level in all of her subjects and Brittany is above grade level in everything. Her teacher wants her to apply for the “Talented and Gifted” program in school.”
“We are already adapting to our new home in the US and are extremely happy with the results of our kids in school. Everything in their report cards was positive. The teacher was very impressed with Ana Lucia’s grades – her lowest grade was an 85 in reading. As English is not her first language, the teacher said it was a great mark. She also mentioned that the math scores were stronger than most of the other children in her grade. I think that my kids are adapting very well, and the grades are very good. All this thanks to Colegio Americano.”
