Colegio Americano de San Carlos offers many extra-curricular opportunities in art, drama, and music that let students’ creative abilities shine. The school offers an extensive Arts program that will contribute to the self-confidence and self-awareness and creativity of our students. At Colegio Americano, we believe that it is important to awaken the students’ creativity and self-expression by exposing them to all the various art forms, whether it's in painting, dancing, performing onstage or playing an instrument.

Music
The overall goal of the music program is to strengthen the ability of all students to learn how to make, create and include music in their lives.  Interested students may learn the piano or guitar.  Colegio Americano students perform in several yearly concerts and recitals. The choir performs at school functions, as well as at city concerts and festivals.

Drama
Students are offered opportunities to creatively engage in dramatic experiences encouraging a sense of play and nourishing their imaginative selves. Each year Colegio Americano produces several dramatic performances, offering students an opportunity to share their talents and skills with their families and within the broader community.

Art
Students explore painting, sketching, drawing, cartooning, collage, and Photoshop in these workshops. At Colegio Americano, we believe that it is important that students have an avenue for self-expression and are encouraged to develop their creativity.

Dance
Participants learn various types of dancing including modern, Latino and ballet. Colegio Americano dancers have performed at assemblies and in school plays.

Etiquette
Etiquette is more than please and thank you.  We teach manners that will get students through everyday situations. Participants learn the meaning of respect and the importance of showing respect for other people.  We also teach the importance of first impressions, proper handshaking and eye contact, how to introduce yourself and others, how to make polite conversation, communicating with confidence, the art of conversation, listening skills, telephone communication, table manners and more.  Through these skills, participants gain confidence and leadership abilities.
